Lines Bannister Funeral Directors holds Christmas Blessing

Lines Bannister Funeral Directors held a Christmas Tree Blessing in their funeral home in Ascot where clients from the past year were invited to attend and place personal message cards on the tree in memory of their loved ones.

A blessing held on Tuesday 6th December 2011 at Lines Bannister Funeral Directors, 69 High Street, Ascot, was led by Reverend Rosie Webb of All Saints Church in Ascot along with Linda Hannah a solo violinist who serenaded the congregation before and after the event.

Reverend Webb commented “It was a pleasure to be asked again to bless the Christmas tree at Lines Bannister Funeral Directors. This is the first year without their loved ones, and this gives us the opportunity to join together with the families to offer support and comfort in this difficult time leading up to the Christmas holidays”.

Funeral Co-ordinator Sylvia Chambers added “It was a privilege to offer this blessing, where the families were given the opportunity to place a star on our Christmas tree with their personal message, to remember their loved ones.”

The Christmas trees will now remain within the reception area of the funeral home in Ascot until after the festive season.

Lines Bannister volunteers at the Royal Berkshire Bracknell Clinic

The team at Lines Bannister have been given the opportunity to volunteer every Wednesday morning for The Royal Berkshire Bracknell Clinic. It provides the most advanced radiotherapy cancer treatment available – and in a community setting.

The clinic officially opened on 31st May 2011 and is the first of its kind in the country, providing the local community top class cancer care, which includes chemotherapy and patients that require regular kidney dialysis – usually three times a week. This clinic means that patients do not have to travel to hospital to have treatment.

Funeral Co-ordinator Sylvia Chambers is delighted to be one of the many volunteers that assist the patients at the clinic, and feels that it has been very rewarding.
